how would the new disability medical assessments work if you have been signed off from work for life and recieving higher rate care and lower rate mobility would you still need to attend this stupid medical?
i agree with you saying that it is too weed out those that are capable for work. but to let you understand my partner is unable to work he has problems with his hands, and now losing his eye sight due to his diabetes. amongst deep depression and other things
the medical assessment is only stupid as there will be people that will not be able to work so therefore wasting time and resources. however as one person said it will wave out those that can work

As far as I understand the new rules are that everyone will have to attend the medical examination. For existing claimants there will be a delay until the new system is up and running but eventually you will have to attend a medical to prove that you are still incapable of work and the medicals will be more frequent throughout the time you are claiming. In a nutshell no more signed off for life unless you really can prove you are to ill to work on a regular basis.

I really wasn’t pointing the finger at anyone with my answer but to be honest I think the new rules will benefit people who really are too ill to work as people will see that they need the state help and it won’t be stick that people who have no idea of what it is like to to live with a chronic condition use to label you.

    possibly,if you could get there.
In fairness this is designed to weed out people
who are in fact able to work and not disabled as you describe.

I don’t know why you think the medical test is stupid.. its a good idea… i actually thought they already did it.. Altho i think they should do it through your own doctor rather than someone else

It will be the usual Government sponsored fiasco ..

The Labor Government moved something like 2.5 million from ‘unemployed’ to ‘disability’ in order to make the jobless figures look good …

To ‘re-evaluate’ 2.5 million individuals (plus all the appeals etc) is going to take 10 years …..

Want to know how to reduce the ‘disability’ count at a stroke ????

Easy = just increase Job Seekers Allowance so it pays more than Disability … and watch 2 million people suddenly decide they are not so disabled after all ……
